About Us

Corby Concepts is in Carmel, Indiana, just north of the Racing Capitol of the World, Indianapolis. With over 30 years of experience, Michael Corby got into the helmet painting world while racing karts where he grew up in Northern California. His father, Dan Corby owned an auto body shop enabling Michael to custom paint his own racing helmets. The first painted helmet was a big hit at the local kart track amongst other drivers while Michael was testing a new kart and engine. Another driver said, “Your paint work is awesome! You should start painting them for other drivers!” And that was it, Corby Concepts was created as a small, part-time thing while Michael attended college in Sacramento.
